Just wanted to say I managed to get the high score in Arkaball II without using the process that Guy described (restoring Arkaball directory). I did make an effort to avoid the "Next level" item and tried to hit all metal blocks first if I got a "through" or "fireball" item. I also stopped the game if a "death" item showed up that was too close to my ball.
As for Bubbles, play "Puzzle" game mode at "Easy" difficulty. All levels, except the third level, will drop the bubbles after every ninth shot. The third level will drop them after every 19 shots.
Plan your shots so that you can drop as many attached bubbles as you can. Connected bubbles of the same color are worth 3 points each, but bubbles attached to them are worth 5 points each. You should try to have at least 750-800 points after the first two levels.
Also, your ninth shot cannot allow a bubble to touch the rope, even if you make a color-connected shot....EXCEPT for the very first time you do it in a level.
I think 4000 points is possible, but I'm taking a break for a bit.
